Please keep Saturday October 5th open for the Ohio University chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers annual golf outing. The scramble is tentatively set for 9 AM with a shotgun start. Get together with some friends and enjoy the fall in Athens. The outing is a great time and all the proceeds are put into our projects such as the concrete canoe and steel bridge. Keep your eyes open for more info to come.

Our first social of the fall will be next Wednesday night (September 18th) from 6-8 PM at Coaches Bar and Grill.
We’ll have drinks and food available and afterwards there’s trivia at 8 PM for those who want to stick around and play.

If the weather’s good, I’ll set us up outside on the patio.

Have you ever been involved in a project where things went wrong and wish you had the foresight to prevent the problems? The Engineers Club of Columbus is presenting this luncheon to hear from three prominent speakers on the subject:

AWWA, OWEA, and ASCE will be supporting Central Ohio River Pride month by participating in the Griggs Reservoir Cleanup, hosted by the City of Columbus Department of Public Utilities and Scioto Boat Club. Please arrive by 845 am to meet our group and sign up. Bags, gloves, and light refreshments will be provided. Please consider wearing long pants and closed toe shoes since we will be off the path. 17th Annual ASCE Golf Outing June 21st!!

With spring in full swing that means Golf Season is upon us. Don’t forget to mark your calendars and signup for the 17th annual ASCE Central Ohio Section Golf Outing to be held June 21st, 11:00a.m. at Darby Creek Golf Course. The format is the ever popular 2 person mixed format. For a low entry fee of $70 you get greens fees, cart, driving range, drink tickets, lunch, steak and chicken dinner, beverages, tons of hole and place prizes and lots of “those” pies at the end.

The ASCE June Planning Meeting will be held on Tuesday June 19th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Tommy’s Pizza (tommyspizza.com) in Dublin. Please come for pizza and soft drink and to plan our upcoming ASCE and joint professional luncheons and dinner meetings for Fall 2013-Spring 2014.
