The following are a few announcements for this month:

2010 Robert O'Shea Engineering Ethics Award

The Ohio Council of Local Sections of ASCE announces the 2010 Robert O'Shea Engineering Ethics Award.  The council believes that encouraging younger civil engineers to consider professional ethics is important to our profession and would like participation in the competition.  The winner of the award will receive a $250 award and a $250 dollar contribution to their younger member chapter or student chapter. Papers must be submitted by January 15, 2010.

Attached is a copy of the criteria for the 2010 Robert O'Shea Engineering Ethics Award (file: 2010 Robert O'Shea Engineering Ethics Award Criteria) which explains how to prepare and submit the paper.  Also attached (file: 2010 Robert O'Shea Award Announcement) is a brief announcement that can be posted to your website or placed in your Newsletter.  It explains how to acquire a copy of the criteria through the Ohio Council website or from Bob Redfield Chair, Robert O'Shea Engineering Ethics Award Committee.



OTEC Happy Hour

We along with the Franklin County Chapter of OSPE, Engineers Club of Columbus, and Central Ohio ASHE will be hosting the Annual Happy Hour on Tuesday October 27, 2009 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brothers Bar and Grill 477 Park Street, please see attached flyer.  All members and guests are welcome.
