This is your dues at work - take advantage of it! The Ohio Legislative Day program is coming up May 10 - Next Tuesday. You may have gotten information on this program via ASCE National emailings, but I would like to personally encourage you to attend. This great program is jointly sponsored by the Ohio Council of ASCE and OSPE. I hope you have registered, and that you are urging other ASCE members in your area to attend as well. If you haven't registered yet, a brochure is attached, with registration procedures. The best way to register is by phone at this point - call 1-800-654-9481. We can extend the May 3 deadline if needed. We have great speakers lined up - John Greenhalge and Jim Mawhorr from the Engineer's licensing board; James Petro, Chancellor of the Board of Regents of Ohio's State-supported Universities; Jim Barna, P. E. Assistant Director of ODOT; and Brian Pallasch who runs the ASCE's national legislative program, as well as Mr. Cory Neugebauer on STEM School intern opportunity programs. There will be 4 CEUs toward your annual requirement of 15 hours, and a program to arrange appointments with your State Legislators. We hope that everyone attending will visit their State Representative and Senator this year. If you do register, we can make the appointments on your behalf, with the legislator or his/her assistant.
