April President's Letter

I wanted to start off by thanking James Pajk, P.E. from the Franklin County Engineer’s office and Richard Engle, P.E. from E.L. Robinson Engineering for presenting the Dodridge Street Bridge project during the March luncheon. In addition to the lunch presentation both James and Richard were able to provide a tour of the project site and
give the group an up close view of the current stages of construction.

Please join us on Thursday April 19, 2012 at The Ohio State University Student Union located at 1739 North High Street. The OSU ASCE Student Chapter has planned a dinner meeting and invited Nigel Carter from Turner Construction to present the unique aspects of the OSU Medical Center Expansion Project. Along with the presentation the Ohio State University and Ohio University ASCE Student Chapters will give a short presentation on the activities that they have been participating in over the past year. A certificate for one Continuing Professional Development (CPD) will be issued at the conclusion of the program.

It is that time of year again to dust off the golf clubs and buy a few dozen balls to get ready for the ASCE Central Ohio 16th Annual Golf Outing. Once again Jim Pajk and the ASCE Young Members Group will provide one of the best golf outings in Central Ohio at the Darby Creek Golf Club. Please check this month’s advertisement and registration form to sign up for the June 22nd event. Also companies can purchase hole, lunch, dinner or beverage cart sponsorships, all proceeds will benefits the Young Member Group, Civil Engineering Career Day and the Minority Student Engineering Program.
