October President's letter

I wanted to start off by thanking Shawn Thompson of CH2M HILL, Kerry Hart of Kokosing and Marie Keister of Engage for the outstanding presentation of the Columbus Crossroads project at our September lunch meeting. This signature transportation project in Downtown Columbus will change the interstate landscape of Columbus and will effect how we commute on I-71 / 670 for many years to come. Please join us at the Bridgewater Banquet and Conference Center, located on Sawmill Parkway, for our October 20th luncheon meeting. At this luncheon Tim Van Echo from S&ME and Ken Ricker of MS Consultants will present and discuss the City of Columbus Upground Reservoir Project located in Delaware County. This project includes the construction of a series of three reservoirs over 2,500 acres of land which will provide the water supply for the Columbus Division of Water and Del-Co Water Company long-range needs. Join us and receive a certificate for one (1) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hour for attending.

Over the last few years many professionals in Central Ohio have been affected by the slow economy and the lack projects in the Engineering, Design and Consulting field. We would like to remind those ASCE members to attend the monthly luncheon meetings as a great way to meet and network with other professional in Central Ohio. Also for those Engineering firms that sponsor our monthly newsletter we will be providing a link to each of the sponsoring company’s website where job openings will be listed. For those of you that have friends and/or past co-workers that are looking for career opportunities, please refer them to our website and encourage them to attend our monthly lunch meetings.
