Topic: West Main Street Bridge - Westerville Presentation and Tour

Joint Meeting with ASHE and Engineer's Club of Columbus

The West Main Street Bridge over Alum Creek is an important crossing that connects the west side of the City of Westerville to Otterbein University and the Uptown District. Three parks incorporate the corners of the bridge along with a Senior Center and Alum Creek bike trail on the west side.

A short presentation will discuss Franklin County’s approach to the structure type determination, its public involvement approach as well as some of the design challenges affiliated with this project. This $6.6 million project included additional work requested by the City of Westerville included a new waterline and improvements to the parking lot for the Senior Center.

A tour of the project site will take place immediately after the presentation for those interested. Attendees will be required to drive to the site and bring their own hard hat, safety vest and appropriate footwear for walking the site. The site is located approximately 5 minutes from the Villa Milano. Maps and directions as to where to park will be given at the meeting.

CPD Hours: A certificate for one (1) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hour will be issued at the conclusion of the program.

Registration is due by 5 PM on Friday, March 11, 2011. Please note: Late registrations and walk-ins may not be accepted. Registration fees may still be required for no-shows and registrants canceling after March 11, 2011.

Payment: The preferred method of payment is online before March 11, 2011 (see below) or on the day of the event by cash or check. If you need to pay for multiple registrations, please pay by check. Checks should be made payable to Central Ohio ASCE.
